Sync’d Up With Source

At last year’s NextGEN retreat, I was introduced to Shit-Talking Karen. Now that I know her, I can catch her whispering her fears and anxieties in my ear. I’ve gotten my power back. Listening for Shit-Taking Karen has led to the discovery of another voice in my head. I call her Rev. Karen. These voices in my head may seem like the crazy ramblings of a minister gone mad. If it helps, I just read Playing Big by Tara Mohr. Mohr describes these voices as the “Inner Critic” and the “Inner Mentor”.

Rev. Karen, or my inner mentor, feels like my direct link to Source. When I’m scared, worried or anxious, this voice calms me down with a nugget of wisdom. The trick is listening for it. I’m often so focused on my feelings that I forget that my inner mentor is available for me. Sheltering at home has helped remind me of its presence.

I believe that there is a divine order involved in our country being turned upside down. The world we once knew was no longer working for us. We’re in the process of redefining ourselves individually and within our communities. It no longer makes sense to allow the Shit-Talking versions of ourselves to run our lives. Now is the time to slow down, sync up with Source and let our inner mentor run the show.

At our next Spirit Uncensored monthly event, Audra Nichole, RScP and I will be leading an experience designed to connect you with Source. From now on, our second Sunday events will be called “Sunday Night Live” and held on July 12th at 5pm PT. Join us on Zoom!
