#BestYearEver

I’m excited to announce the launch of the #BestDayEverMovement! The purpose of the movement is to inspire each one of us to live each day expecting to experience the best day ever. If we started every day with this intention, then we’ll have the best year ever!

Intentions are powerful, but experiencing each day as your best day ever is deeper than enjoying the pleasant experiences of life. It also requires finding reasons to be grateful for our challenges. Our struggles serve a purpose. If we don’t learn from our mistakes, we are doomed to repeat them.

I’ve been living with this intention for about five years and it’s helped me through some very dark periods in my life. I know that we all faced challenges in 2020, and I was no exception. The Civil Rights Revolution that erupted in May of 2020 revealed a lot of internalized racism and trauma that I didn’t know I was carrying. For the last seven months, I’ve been working hard to educate myself and heal.

It’s no secret that being black in America is challenging. Before 2020, I never took the time to address and heal that trauma that had been building in my consciousness throughout my life. I lived my healing journey very publicly, leading Spirit Uncensored events like Sunday Night Live: Red Table Talk Edition where my mom and I had an honest conversation about race with participants from all over the country. In November of 2020, my black (democrats) and white  Jewish (Trump supporters) family came together to discuss race and politics in America: Unity & Civility.

Those conversations were incredibly difficult for me. But they were very important in my healing journey. This work has prepared my mother, Dr. Shari Frost-Roth, and I to lead a book study on The Mis-Education of the Negro through the Ahiah Center for Spiritual Living. The book was written in the 1930s, and it’s shocking how much of this book is relevant today! In this nine-week book study, we will discuss how our education system was designed to create a system of white supremacy that is still in place today. Everyone is welcome to drop in for a single class or register for the series.

Living each day as the best day ever still requires us to identify and heal our trauma. The #BestDayEverMovement Facebook Group is a great way for us to connect and support each other. If you need additional support, please reach out to me directly on Facebook, Instagram or via my website. Let’s dive into this movement and make 2021 our #BestYearEver!
